Περίληψη: The behaviour after handling of Apodemus mystacinus, has not been studied yet in its natural habitat. To fathom its behavioral aspects, a delimited release field was selected in an undisturbed forest area for two trapping sessions. Every trapped mouse was ear-tagged, and its biometric characteristics were noted. Each individual was transferred into a dark box for 5 minutes, to reduce its handling stress before the release, while the freeing process was recorded for 5 minutes by 2 cameras. Thereafter, an ethogram was created, a set of different behaviors was extracted, and the proportion of time of each behavior was calculated. Behavioral sequences of groups, based on sex and capture occasions were exported, while kinematic diagrams were generated. Our results show that the majority of the first captured individuals choose to remain in the box. The kinematic diagram of the recaptured individuals demonstrated a higher complexity than the first captured ones, while most common behavior observed was the slow movement of the captured animals after exiting the box. This was the first approach to investigate the behavioral sequence of A. mystacinus after handling in field conditions.
