Περίληψη:	The rapid proliferation of users using mobile devices, as well as insatiable bandwidth needs for surfing the Web, demonstrates the adoption of cloud computing services at the edge (edge computing) as state-of-the-art technology. The provision of cloud computing services at the edge of cellular networks expects to increase the access speed of mobile devices to the Internet as well as reduce the response of applications used by mobile device users. This deliverable focuses on the development of algorithms for: (a) copying data from servers located at the traditional cloud to and from the servers located at the edge of cellular networks, as well as the placement of the virtual machines accessing the aforementioned data at both the traditional cloud and the boundaries of cellular networks such that to minimize the data transfers at cellular networks, and (b) the placement and execution of queries submitted to cloud computing services at the cellular network such that to reduce both energy consumption and the response of queries submitted by users. The performance of the proposed techniques are evaluated through experimental evaluation.
